Travel east to west from “Sunny Po‘ipū” through Hanapēpē, a once-agricultural town now thriving with local art and charm, before reaching historic Waimea, one of the first areas believed to have been settled by Polynesian explorers. From sea level in Waimea, we’ll journey across the island’s lush interior, winding steadily northward along the rim of the spectacular Waimea Canyon.
At each overlook, step out to feel the refreshing rush of cool mountain air and take in the canyon’s bright colors and dramatic cliffs.
