Description
Journey through Kaua‘i’s lush countryside as you wind your way up the mountain to the legendary Waimea Canyon — famously named the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” by Mark Twain. Standing at the edge, you’ll be in awe of the dramatic cliffs and deep red canyons that make this one of Hawai‘i’s most spectacular sights.
Continue your adventure at the Spouting Horn Blowhole, where powerful ocean waves surge through ancient lava rock, creating a spectacular natural fountain. Then, explore historic Hanapēpē Town, surrounded by sugar cane fields. Take in the sweeping views from the Hanapēpē Valley lookout and cross the town’s iconic Swinging Bridge, a beloved landmark that has connected the community for more than a century.
Pause for a relaxing lunch on your own at Chicken in a Barrel BBQ, located at the charming Waimea Plantation Cottages, before heading to Kōke‘e State Park. Enjoy a stroll along a scenic nature trail surrounded by native Hawaiian flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for the brilliant red ‘apapane and ‘i‘iwi birds as they sip nectar from the blossoms of native trees.
From the Pu‘u Hinahina Lookout, soak in panoramic views of Waimea Valley, then pay tribute to Kaua‘i’s last king with a visit to the new King Kaumuali‘i statue at Pa‘ula‘ula (Russian Fort).
Your day concludes at the beautiful Kaua‘i Coffee Plantation, where rows of coffee trees stretch toward the ocean. Learn about the entire coffee-making process — from blossom to roast — and savor samples of their rich, estate-grown Hawaiian coffee under the warm island sun.
Don’t miss this unforgettable Kaua‘i adventure — a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and local flavor!
